At The Hunt Source, we’re here to change that. We specialize in helping DIY hunters gain consistent access to public land opportunities year after year through custom-tailored plans designed for your unique goals.
We don’t recycle pre-written plans or send hundreds of hunters to the same unit. Instead, we take the time to understand your needs, preferences, and timeline—whether you’re just starting or looking to expand your Western hunting portfolio.

Our Services
Application Roadmap
With this service, we’ll create a complete, customized plan to help you draw tags out West and give you a clear roadmap for your hunting goals for one species. During the session, we’ll review your priorities — whether that’s hunting every year, targeting trophy units, or creating opportunities for your whole family — so your plan is tailored to you. During the call, we’ll map out which states and units to apply for, how to balance short-term opportunities with long-term goals, and backup options to maximize your chances of success. After the call we’ll type up your plan as discussed and email it over. You’ll use this plan to do your own applications and can always double check your entries with us if you’d like or contact us if things need adjusted. If you don’t come out with a tag let us know and we’ll do our best to help you secure a tag for the year if that’s the goal. One species is included per roadmap. You can add additional species for a reduced price, just let us know.
Calls are 30-45 minutes
$250 for one species
$150 per additional species on same booking (let us know if you need this added and we will invoice after you have booked)
Hunt Plan/E-Scouting Package
This is a personal hunt plan that is built specifically for you and your hunt with a mapping folder of labeled access, glassing points, trails, or any other necessary info. Most plans consist of 3 mapped out areas to focus on as well as a written plan of attack with all the info you need to hit the ground running when you show up to hunt. We will begin with a 45 minute zoom call to go over your area, answer all questions you have, and also ask necessary questions to make sure we build the plan that fits you best. After we will build the e-scouting package and write up the plan. These take some time to put together but we will return them back as soon as we can. Once you’re on your hunt please get ahold of us a few days in so we can touch base and adjust the plan as possible. The most well played plan is useless in hunting without the ability to change things for the conditions on the ground, that’s what truly sets our plans and e-scouting apart.

One 45-minute call to build your customized hunt plan
Folder with 15-30 way points and mapped out areas to focus on
A second 30-minute call or series of messages for reevaluation during your hunt
An open line of communication to me before the hunt for gear or preparation questions
Plan adjustments to deal with snow storms, fire, or other extreme circumstances that make changes necessary

Verbal Hunt Plan without E-Scouting
Want some help planning your hunt but don’t need an entire written plan and mapped e-scouting? This 45 minute conference call over looking your area on maps while I’ answer all your questions will get you started right. This is a great value, especially when split among a hunting party. No additional calls, mapping, or other help is provided without additional services being booked.
